The FAA has issued its new heliport planning, design and construction Advisory Circular

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently issued its new Advisory Circular 150/5390-2D, which provides guidance to the rotorcraft community on heliport planning, design and construction. This AC supersedes previously issued guidance from 2012 and is largely voluntary in nature. The FAA notes that these standards and guidelines are recommended for establishing an acceptable level of safety, performance, and operation for heliports.

Overall this new advisory circular serves as an invaluable resource when it comes down to providing recommendations concerning how best one should go about designing their own private heliport facility so they can safely operate rotary-wing aircrafts while still adhering strictly within the confines set by local regulations governing aerial activity over populated areas . It is therefore highly advisable that anyone who wants build their own personal helicopter landing site refer back often this document whenever they have questions pertaining specifically towards what needs be done in order make sure everything meets required aviation safety levels before going ahead with actual construction work.
